최근 본인이 추구하는 ‘입체적 드로잉’ 이란
어떤 소재를 테마로 아름답게 표현했나?
또는 작품에서 보여지는 형태나 색이 어떤 의미를 가지고 있나?
라기 보다, 내 작업의 시작은 사물의 본질적 기본 골격인
선에서부터 시작이었다.

그러나 선은 더 이상 평면이 아니다
그동안 본인 작업의 평면회화에서만 머문 선들의 반란을 표현한 것이다.

공간으로 진출하는 선, 평면과 입체를 자유롭게 넘나드는 선,
가상과 현실로 이어 지는 선과 그 선으로 이루어진 면과
면으로 이루어진 입체의 조합이다.

거기서 나타나는 새로운 공간의 형태에 빛을 만나 연출되는
우연적 이미지를 수반한 힘의 확산과 구축 등과 같은
총체적 리듬감에 주력하였다.

자연 속에 일정한 질서가 있듯이
내가 추구하는 작업에는 분명 규칙적 질서가 숨어 있었으며,
나는 단지 그것을 발견해 나가는 흥미를 찾게 된다.

내 작업은 그리거나 만드는 것이 목적이 아니라
고고학자가 유물을 발견해나가는 것처럼
아직 밝혀지지 않은 미적질서를 채집하는 것일 뿐이다.//이종현//

The story of three-dimensional drawing

“three-dimensional drawing” that’s my pursued
The three-dimensional drawing
which I have recently pursued is neither all about which object is used and
how it is beautifully expressed according to each theme nor about what meaning the shape and the color in the work of art should have.

Rather, my focus is that the starting point of my works converges into “the line” which, I presume, is the basic skeleton of all the objects.

But line is no longer plane or flat.
Instead, the line which I have tried to express lies in the rebellion of the lines , which have remained only in the flat paintings of my works.

Line to expand into space,
Line to freely cross between the plane and three-dimensional line,
Line to connect between virtual and real, thus leading to the combination of many surfaces which consist of those lines

After all, I have concentrated on rhythms in general , that is , the rhythm of both creation and diffusion of power accompanied by accidental image displayed in the new space with the encounter of light.

As constant order must be obvious in nature, so does the regular order in my works and I really enjoy the discovery of that order for myself

The emphasis in my works of art never lies in the drawing or making of something but in the gathering of unidentified aesthetic order like the archeologist carefully gathers ancient relics.//Lee Jong Hyun//
